1911 TEKTON FC Bayern Munich

A new high-scoring football star

Having made a spectacular breakthrough in football by its association with the most prestigious clubs such as FC Arsenal and FC Bayern Munich, Ebel is asserting itself as the leading watch brand in the world of football. It is the first to display a genuine long-term vision in the football universe by opting to establish intense and lasting partnerships. Over the coming months and years, other major clubs are set to follow the example of these two front-runners.

The new watch now being launched is designed to celebrate the brand's partnership signed with a world-class football club. It is issued in a limited edition within the “1911 Tekton” collection, which currently represents the most charismatic and engineered Ebel men's collection and certainly the culmination of the brand's most recent endeavors on behalf of men with an averred preference for fine watchmaking. The concept was developed in close cooperation with the club. The Bayern Munich model goes for the almost “total black” look including the case, bezel, screws, dial rubber-clad pushers and technofiber strap.

Ebel has powerfully expressed its deep and lasting commitment to football by developing a proprietary movement specifically designed for this sport, since it keeps effective track of football match time. This exclusive chronograph movement was developed by Ebel watchmakers and is assembled and tested in-house in its La Chaux-de-Fonds workshops. Designed to measure match half times and code-named “245” standing for 2 times 45 minutes, it even indicates extra time where required. The oversized 45-minute counter at 12 o'clock on the watch dials serves to read off elapsed time, while the disk at 6 o'clock indicates the hours in periods of 45 minutes. Doubtless the most distinctive feature of all is the signature football-shaped oscillating weight, personalized with the club logo and numbered according to the limited edition (250 for Bayern Munich).

With regard to the FC Bayern Munich limited edition, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Executive Board Chairman of the club, states “I am very happy to have played an active part in the birth of this avant-garde watch that represents the quintessence of the values and the spirit of our club”.

Ebel has thus created the ultimate football watch in terms of both technique and design, a timepiece that is bound to appeal to the respective clubs' countless football fans the world over as well as to mechanical watch enthusiasts – and doubtless doubly so to those who happen to be both!
