50th Anniversary Commemorative Edition

This commemorative limited model for the 50th anniversary is equipped with a Spring Drive movement tuned for enhanced accuracy. Among watches powered by a mainspring, it is the most accurate watch in the world.Spring Drive is SEIKO's original and proprietary movement in which the mechanical and the quartz system are fused together. It is based on the foundation of all mechanical watch technology, but it uses an entirely original system for time regulation: the Tri-synchro regulator controls and releases the mechanical, electrical and electro-magnetic energy generated by the mainspring. It replaces the escapement, delivering the equivalent of one-second-per-day accuracy, and uniquely features glide-motion hands that express the natural and continuous flow of time. 9R15 is equipped with quartz crystals which are specially selected with time and care, and the enhanced accuracy of -/+10 seconds per month (-/+ 0.5 second per day) is realized.In celebration of the 50th anniversary of Grand Seiko, lion emblems in 18K-gold are applied to the dial and the oscillating weight. This lion emblem symbolizes Grand Seiko's tradition and quality and its determination to be the “King of Watches.”
