Description

The story of the House of Bovet began in China in 1822. What could be more legitimate than greet the Chinese New Year with a unique piece evoking astrology. 2014 is thus placed under the sign of the horse.

If the craftsmen of the House of BOVET chose a Barb Horse to illustrate this dial it is because it symbolizes better that anything the qualities we grant him: loyalty and elegance.

The Amadeo Fleurier 43 case “Barb Horse” is literally manufactured in red gold. Every detail of its surface was carefully hand-engraved by one of the House’s engravers. The Fleurisanne is a motif traditionally used to decorate movements and cases manufactured since almost two hundred years; on this timepiece it supports harmoniously the equestrian theme of the miniature painting.

The hand-painted and lacquered dial, made according to a Chinese technique adapted by the craftsman to the specificities of its work, will have required by itself a hundred hours of attention and concentration to immortalize the noble equine, whose ornaments are embellished with gold leaf (saddle, stirrups and saddlery).

With this new unique piece the craftsmen of the House of BOVET proved once more their absolute mastery of an unrivalled savoir-faire by not hesitating to spend twenty times more time to decorate a component than the necessary time to manufacture it.
