Beda'a Eclipse

Capturing the soul of the beautiful natural phenomenon, Eclipse is a 37 mm, time only watch that uses the concept of “less is more” to present a fresh take on time-telling, a watch that covers most of its dial to emphasize the necessary information to its wearer.

The "Celestial shield" is the defining feature of Eclipse, the steel cover floats over the dial on level with the sapphire crystal ring, making it not only a visual feature, but a tactile one as well. the shield offers a window into the sweeping hour reading, as well as a subtle 10-second counter. The ring that remains of the watch face reveals a multi-leveled dial with a "floating" minutes indicator, harkening back to the rays of light shining behind the celestial body in an eclipse. The unique architecture of the shield and 3D-dial also work together to create a depth effect that makes for a luminous shot unlike any other.

Powering the piece is the Sellita sw300 Swiss automatic movement. Reliable, sturdy, and put on display through the sapphire case back of the watch.

The creation of Eclipse was challenging from the design phase to its assembly, especially given the 8.1 mm profile of the case. The case is made of 904 steel and features a distinct lug design where the 4 lugs are created and finished separately before being joined to the concave sides of the case via invisible screws, resulting in sharp and clean lines that make for a truly unique watch that wears comfortably on almost any wrist. 

Revealed during watches and wonders 2024, Eclipse represents the brand’s first piece aimed at international audiences, fusing the brands roots in Qatari and Arab culture with a modern watchmaking design language.
