Description

TOCKR -C47 DDAY C Alfred Leland Pepper - Limited edition of 75 pieces.

This model honors Alfred Leand Pepper, an American veteran of the 2nd World War, aged 78, who participated in the Allied invasion on the Normandy coast on June 6, 1944.

The edition pays tribute to the recent 75th anniversary of the D-Day (1944-2019).

The all-bronze, cushion-shaped case with a diameter of 42mm houses the automatic caliber ETA 2834 which has been adapted to technical specificities of the recycled material of the dial made by TEC-Ebauches in Vallorbe.

The caseback features the engraving of a McDouglas C47c aircraft which is at the origin of this watch line.

The DDAY dial is made with parts of the original body of the legendary "That's All Brother" aircaft that marked the history of World War II by leading the allied fleet of aircrafts in June 1944.

The recycled aeronautical aluminum of which it is composed was sumitted to numerous machining operations but also various treatments intended to stop the phenomenon of corrosion while keeping its original aspect as much sought by collectors.

None of the dials of the 75 pieces of this limited series are identical and they all show different kinds of marks and flaws that are proof of their authenticity.

The date window is open at 9:00 am and the Arabic indexes are in SLN as well as the hands.

It is interesting to note also that the aircraft appearing at the tip of the second hand is exactly the silhouette of the plane mentioned above and is also luminescent.

The olive strap is made in canvas and has a wet-resistant linnig. It closes to the wrist with a solid bronze pin buckle.
