Maîtres du Temps – Chapter 3 Celestial Hemisphere: One of the finest and most highly decorative celestial charts ever drawn and published in 1660 was reproduced in a 35 mm dial miniature painting by Artist André Martinez in 400 hours. In this work of art, the figures of the zodiac form a circle presenting the constellations of the Southern sky, including Orion, Hydra, and the southern cross, all represented by original figures from middle ages. The 800 stars painted in 24 karat gold are an integral part of the painting. This unique piece reflects the incredible talent of miniature painter André Martinez and to miniature painting at its highest level.
On the mechanical side, Maîtres du Temps endeavors to deliver superior quality that parallel 800 stars Celestial Hemisphere Chapter Three Reveal. The ingenious mechanism of the opening of the dial is an important element of Chapter Three’s DNA. A pusher on the center of the crown allows to lower two additional and hidden indications: a second time zone indication and a Day & Night indicator, both displayed on cylinders, the signature feature of Maîtres du Temps.
