Emmanuel Bouchet – Complication One Contrast
Guided by his passion for high and fine watchmaking, his creativity, his quest for new challenges and technical sophistication Emmanuel Bouchet presents his new interpretation of watchmaking.
The fascinating Complication One gives way to a new bi-chromatic interpretation. As a resolutely affirmed character, its quintessence is the duality of opposites. Complication One Contrast, or pure elegance, plays with a multidimensional design and offers a modern and exclusive reading of time. Sublimated by the appearance of contempory materials and coatings, the watch reveals its discs that have beveled edges on which are inscribed the hours and minutes. The new hand, robust and imposing, extends its grip on the disc up to the bevel. The contrast between black and white is striking, alchemy operates.
Symbol of the transition between a first disruptive model and those to come, Contrast embodies the will of the "Ateliers Bouchet" to always transport the passionate and the collectors in a space-time peculiar to the Brand, made of finesse, of the quest for beauty, of requirement and perfection.
Powered by a manual winding mechanical movement developed and manufactured in Switzerland by Emmanuel Bouchet workshops, the EB63C caliber is equipped with a Breguet variable-frequency spiral balance with a frequency of 3 Hertz.
Two independent barrels feed this mechanical wonder with a power reserve of 65 hours. One barrel drives the going train to the escape wheel, regulated by a free-sprung balance on a Breguet type overcoil. The second barrel keeps the transmission escapement on the dial under tension. This escapement snaps forward every fifteen seconds to replicate what goes on in the other escapement five times a second. The center wheel of the first train rotates an elliptical triangle, which turns in the lever fork on the dial, swinging it aside every fifteen seconds to unlock and lock the double escape wheel. The slow motion makes it possible to finally observe the operation and the detail of a Swiss anchor escapement by its carrier. Every moment will be an enthusiasm for discovery and captivation. Every detail has been taken into account for watchmaking excellence, technical and mechanical reliability, aesthetics embellished by high horological decoration finishes.
As regards to the reading of the time, it can be read on disks floating above the dial, the hour indication is located at 8 o'clock, the minutes are at 4 o'clock and are presented in an original and intuitive way by two hands. The ten-minute hand is jumping in instant and retrograde. The units hand is jumping in instant. A resolutely contemporary day/night indicator is found under the second disc at noon.
All of these highly engineered components are set in a 44mm technical case with pure and elegant lines.
Contrast comes in 4 combinations of white and black finishing. The case is sandblasted titanium with different iterations of terminations. The latter receives an ADLC treatment (amorphous diamond-like carbon) that makes it resistant to shocks, scratches and gives it a high-tech side.
With "Complication One Contrast", Emmanuel Bouchet writes a new era of his future collections in Haute Horlogerie, the new models will appeal to collectors and fans of timeless and exceptional mechanical watches.
