Felix is the new entry-level model and could not be happier to be the chosen one to mark the tenth anniversary of Habring2. Its A11B movement (B stands for Basis) comprises 99 individual parts (of which 84 are different components) represents the simplest – and extremely precise – mechanical method of measuring time.
 
Despite various references to earlier designs, Felix is at heart a completely new build down to the last component and features a diameter of 30 mm and a height of just 4.2 mm. 18 rubies and 2 KIF shock absorbers are guarantors for a smooth-running timepiece. Its components are manufactured in very limited numbers (<=500) by Habring Uhrentechnik OG or small, specialized suppliers in Austria, Switzerland and Germany.
 
Felix' A11B movement completely redefines the term "manufactory" in its price class – after all, this movement features custom-made sub-assemblies alongside a hand-crafted decor assembled in selective small series. Each anchor is assembled and individually adjusted by hand; the balance springs are manually counted and curved; hand-riveted wheel and pinion combinations and screws polished and blued by hand are just a few examples that make Felix' movement stand out from "industrially manufactured" clockworks.
 
Despite being largely hand-crafted Felix need not fear the chronometer test thanks to a balance wheel oscillating at 4 Hz and an elaborate regulation. Felix is focused on the essential. It is much slimmer than its siblings: a housing diameter of 38.5 mm and an astounding housing height of just 7 mm make Felix an extremely handsome contemporary. Its almost ascetic appearance is emphasized by a fine-punched dial with discreet printing reduced to a minimum. The thread hands are available in black oxidized or manually blued steel. Future owners can choose between two dial variants with either a Roman or Arabic "12". Felix is also available without the characteristic seconds hand at 9 o'clock.
 
But it is not only Felix’ heart that hails from the Alpine republic: its housing and wide variety of leather wrist straps share the same heritage. Felix is a true Austrian through and through.
Around 50 Felix models will leave their home in Völkermarkt in 2015 at a price of €4,450 to make their way in the world and their new owners happy.
