Description

In 1980 Prof. F. A. Porsche was the first to incorporate titanium in the manufacture of a timepiece. Until that time, chronographs with stop functions had tended to be voluminous and relatively heavy due to the extra mechanism involved. Prof. F. A. Porsche's Titanium Chronograph was the first timepiece to be light and easy on the wrist, yet just as sturdy as one made of stainless steel. Porsche Design has chosen 2010 as the year it pays tribute to the celebrated designer. The Titanium Chronograph of 1980, the first of a line of classic masterpieces, is being brought out by Porsche Design in a limited re-edition of 911 pieces.
