Emboldened by this charge to dare and resolved that there can be no absolute in measuring the  passing of time, Gautier Massonneau, founder of Trilobe committed to challenging the dogma in time’s presentation while preserving a timeless aesthetic.

FROM RUPTURE TO CONTINUITY

Trilobe is born of the ambition to move luxury time pieces from the rupture of the past to the continuity of the future. The Trilobe watch reverses the display, putting the motion of time at its centre and fixing its indicators.

Time is given by the combination of three fixed Trilobes pointing to moving rings; Time’s components (Hours, Minutes and Seconds) have a separate display (Trilobe indicator and ring), enabling it to move independently and without the superposition of one over another; Presentation of each component is enhanced by the sizing of the three rings, from largest for hours to smallest for seconds; An exquisitely crafted ensemble of time and beauty.

Thus a new classic is born: an aesthetic which might have been created a hundred years ago, that sets the bar today and that will continue to a hundred years from now.

EXCELLENCE IN SAVOIR-FAIRE

The Trilobe watch originated from the meeting and, later, friendship woven between Gautier Massonneau and Jean-François Mojon. The vanguard of Swiss watchmaking excellence and creator of several models that resonate throughout the history of watchmaking, the latter is driven by an unconventional passion for the most sophisticated complications as well as a love of exceptional examples meeting the highest standards of quality and technicality.

It is under the aegis of Jean-François Mojon that each Trilobe watch is created, in Le Locle, in Swiss Jura. 55 pairs of hands, hundreds of hours of work, thousands of hours of reliability testing: this is the measure of what makes the heartbeat of a Trilobe watch.

LES MATINAUX, THE INAUGURAL SERIES

Imbued with this spirit to dare, Trilobe thus unveils its first collection: “Les Matinaux”.

Available from September 2018 in three dial colours (silver, anthracite and blue), the Inaugural Series of the collection “Les Matinaux” is limited to 100 numbered pieces, for the year 2018. The Trilobe face, which has been patented, has a 42-hour power reserve and is powered by an automatic mechanical movement.

Each look at a Trilobe watch calls us to experience time differently, to stay in motion and change our frame of reference in order to reinvent the world around us.
