Description

For this watch, the designer personally traveled to Mount Everest to collect rocks. On May 29, 1953, Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay first reached the summit of Mount Everest. "We have conquered not just a mountain, but ourselves," Sir Edmund Hillary's quote continues to inspire us today. CIGA design introduces a Mount Everest-themed wristwatch, paying tribute to those who climbed Mount Everest and those who remain there, and honoring humanity's fearless spirit of exploration. The central tourbillon expresses humanity's relentless pursuit of the unknown, which is most precious. The hour and minute hands resemble ice axes used by climbers, crafted from real rock material found at the foot of Mount Everest. To select the rocks, CIGA's designers personally traveled to a Mount Everest base camp less than 20 kilometers away, at an altitude exceeding 5200 meters. The case is made of titanium alloy, durable, lightweight, and corrosion-resistant. To preserve the natural purity of the rocks, twelve indices are displayed on the structure of the case, achieving a balance of functionality and form. The overall design, without lugs, embodies a contemporary minimalist style. The strap is made of fluororubber, using high-precision molds to replicate the texture of real rocks, offering comfort, durability, and a skin-friendly experience. In the design and production of this watch, materials and processes with minimal environmental impact have been used wherever possible. Through this watch, CIGA design pays tribute to humanity's exploration of the unknown world and its fearless courage.
