Description

The SARTORY BILLARD SB04 “Blue Titanium” watch I am presenting to you, expresses the beauty of titanium through its different finishes.

There is no paint on the dial.

The blue color you see is an illusion.

Oxidation of mirror-polished titanium causes optical interference.

The light arriving on the dial is “out of phase”, that is to say partly absorbed and partly reflected.

The beam that emerges has a reduced wavelength, in other words, a blue colored light reaches your eye.

The titanium case, crown and pin buckle feature alternate polished, satin-brushed and micro-blasted finishes.

The hands and indexes (numbers) are in polished titanium.

Finally, the mass decoration fluted ring is in titanium, machined with a diamond cutter and oxidized to the blue color like the dial.

The case (machining and finishes) is made in Switzerland by independent craftsmen.

The automatic movement is Swiss Made supplied by STP (ref 3/13).

The dial, hands, indexes and assembly are made by myself in my workshop in France.

Diameter of the watch is 40 mm, thickness 11.5 mm, weight 55 grams.

With the SB04 range, I only offer made-to-measure watches and I create all the visible parts of the watch myself: dial, hands, highlights, indexes, mass decorations and case engraving. I try to make the process of personalizing my watches as smooth as possible.

The time for co-creation is important, my client presents me with his wishes which I illustrate with drawings until the design is validated. My client is involved in the creation and follows the birth of his watch, I send him photos of the different phases of creation and assembly.

My name is Armand Billard, 45 years old, self-taught in watchmaking creation, I quitted my job of consulting in industrial design to create SARTORY BILLARD in 2015. Today I work alone in my workshop located in France, in Moselle, close to the border with Germany.

I hope you will find my work worthy of participating in GPHG 2020.

Thank you for your attention,

Best regards
