Twins Squelette
With the « TWINS SQUELETTE », Michel Jordi was able to give acclaim again to the movements, which have made the history of “La Vallée de Joux”, cradle of fine watchmaking, in the very heart of the Swiss watch valleys.
The “TWINS SQUELETTE” is a 2-movement timepiece, which, for the connoisseurs, shall respond to the notions of tradition, know-how and longevity.
Such are the key values which are the genuine cornerstones of horology.
First, the upper movement…
A self-winding « Manufacture » movement, which is considered to be the flattest in the world. Its name? Frédérique Piguet 71.
Even though it is the prerogative of a few great watchmakers, which keep it eagerly, this movement could be acquired in limited quantity by Michel Jordi. True to himself, he added personal touch with the off-centre small second at 4 pm, making it truly unique.
As for the dial, it fully exudes Michel Jordi's philosophy with the famous « circles », the ones we already found on the « TWINS HERITAGE ». The dial's 3 layers confer depth to the watch; again in this way it thinks outside the cubicle …
And the lower movement ?...
You may think it a hard task to compete with Frederique Piguet 71. But there is not competition here, but rather a perfect alchemy between 2 movements created by passionate individuals.
Do you know what happened in 1916? This date seems far back in time, but during that year was created the Valjoux 23 movement (production discontinued in 1974), the very one that Michel Jordi offers you with the timepiece « TWINS SQUELETTE ». A mechanical chronograph movement with column wheel-drive and manual wind. Swiss watchmaking know-how at its peak.
Skeletoned, this movement unveils the main plate and bridges that Master goldsmiths and jewellers elaborately conceived. The result is an indescribable pleasure to the eye, which we would like to enjoy endlessly, and which, paradoxically, makes us forget about the time.
With the « TWINS SQUELETTE », we are coloring outside the lines …and it is all the better!
After extensive research, Michel Jordi was fortunate to acquire some 60 movements from a passionate watch collector in the Vallée de Joux. In homage to those dedicated craftsmen Michel Jordi made a limited edition of 2 x 28 pieces of truly unique and historical timepieces for watch aficionados.
