The Ladybird by Blancpain

From 1930 onwards, Blancpain played a pioneering role in the history of ladies’ watches by presenting the first self-winding wristwatch for women. Ever since, the Manufacture has constantly innovated by miniaturising movements in order to equip feminine models with horological complications previously reserved for men.

In 1956, the first Blancpain Ladybird was a sensation upon its introduction, featuring what was at the time the smallest round mechanical movement ever conceived. Since its introduction, Blancpain has evolved and refreshed the Ladybird. New movements have been introduced over the years in both manual winding and automatic winding versions. Careful study coupled with expert watchmaking has kept the Ladybird in the fashion limelight.

This year, the Manufacture in Le Brassus launches a new version of the Ladybird. Ultra-slim, this new model features a mother-of-pearl dial set with diamonds and rubies, a red gold case and bezel set with diamonds, as well as a charm. On the strap, at 6:00 and 12:00, Blancpain developed an ingenious system allowing the owner, depending on her desire, to add a charm. The sapphire display back showcases the self-winding manufacture caliber 6150 of 15.70 mm diameter.
